The first ESS stop for the #33 race team was at Lebanon Valley Speedway this past saturday night June 18th.
It was the first time Lacey has raced at Lebanon Valley. The High-Banked half mile is very intimidating. The #33 sprint car set out for hot laps and the car was going great... for 6 laps or so and then it was acting like it was running out of fuel. The crew tried a few things and thought it was fixed but it happened again in the heat race. The car would run amazing for 6-7 laps and then it wouldn't run right and Lacey would be forced to bring it to the pits early. The crew found a problem with the vent in the fuel cell. It was fixed and the car headed out for the B-Main. But once again, it ran perfect for 6-7 laps and then it acted up and Lacey was forced to pull in early. It was a disappointing night because the car wouldn't run right but all in all the #33 race team had fun and is ready to run with the ESS at Utica Rome on July 3rd. Next stop is Bear Ridge Speedway, June 25th with the Granite State Mini Sprint Racing Club. The Granite State Mini Sprints Racing Club came out in full force for their first race of the year at Canaan Dirt Speedway.
(11) 500cc cars and (8) 600cc cars were in attendance. The feature was slowed for two cautions but when the checkered flag fell it was Lacey Hanson in the #33 taking home the win with the #61 of Chad Southworth in 2nd and another great finish for rookie Scott Cunningham (#38) in 3rd. The Sprint Cars of New England had their second race of the season at Canaan Dirt Speedway on June 3rd, 2011. The 33 race team was looking for a good finish to redeam themselves from the wreck the first race of the season. Lacey had a great run in the heat race, leading for a few lap but ending up finishing 3rd. That put the #33 starting 3rd in the feature. 18 sprint cars took to the track for the feature. It was a fast and exciting race. Exactly what the Sprint Cars of New England are known for. In the end, the #33 finished in the 6th spot. A great finish for the #33 team.
