The forecast showed rain all afternoon and for a while the skies opened up and it rained at the track. The races were pushed back an hour or so but then the Sprint Cars of new England got the call to take the track for the make-up Triple Crown event that had been rained out earlier this season.
Lacey started the feature near the back of the pack and only a few laps in connected with another car, sending the #33 into the front stretch wall. Lacey crawled out the car under her own power and only suffered a minor cut to one leg. The car on the other hand… suffered substantial damage. The chassis is twisted and broken along with many, many parts. The team is trying to find a way to get Lacey on the track for the Octoberfast race at Canaan Fair Speedway. Currently, they are going through the car to see what parts can be salvaged. Lacey would like to thank everyone who has called or messaged to see how she is doing. She really appreciates it. The #13 of Stephen Hutchinson found some mechanical problems with his car during weekly maintenance and was unable to race Saturday at Bear Ridge. The problems will be fixed over the winter and he will return to race with SCoNE next season with his rookie year out of the way and some experience under his belt. The team will be at Bear Ridge Speedway this Saturday night for the final race of the GSMS season. Hope to see you all there.

Saturday night was the second to last race on the GSMS schedule. Lacey had both her 500cc and 600cc mini sprints there. Lacey finished 1st in the 500cc car after a great race with the #51. She also came home in 3rd with her 600cc car. Third is her best finish at Bear Ridge Speedway in her 600cc mini sprint this season.
Kyle Belliveau who normally drives the #15 500 mini sprint but was in the #05 Saturday night, suffered a broken arm in the feature. We would like to wish him a speedy recovery. Sunday was the last race on schedule for the 007 mini stock at Devil's Bowl Speedway. After starting 14th and making it to 3rd place, engine problems forced the 007 to the pit on the last lap. Lacey would like to send a huge thank you to Mike Dundon and family for allowing her to race the 007 at the bowl this year. "I have had so much fun racing the 007. I can't thank Mike enough for allowing me to race here this year. Racing with Mike and Jake has been a blast." Congratulations to Jake Noble on being the 2013 Mini Stock Champion! Lacey and Steve will be racing their 360 sprint cars at Bear Ridge Speedway on Saturday September 21th. This will be the last time you can see the SCoNE cars at Bear Ridge this year. The club will be running double features if time allows. Hope to see you all there. First off, we'd like to apologize for the long delay in updating the website. Weekly updates should now be available through the end of the season. Thank you for sticking with us.
This season has turned out to be the best season for the sprint car team. In the second half of the season, the 360 sprint has captured two 5th places finishes along with a 2nd at Canaan Fair Speedway a few weeks ago. With the season winding down and only 2 nights of racing left, the team hopes to keep up the good work and end out the year on a high note. Last race at Legion Speedway, Lacey was running 7th when the car lost oil pressure. The car was pushed to the pits and the team later found out the oil pump shaft had broken. That has since been fixed and the car is running good. The #13 of Stephen Hutchinson continues to have a great rookie season. He has kept his car in one piece and is progressing all while having a blast learning to drive his car. He has achieve his goal of passing cars during a feature event and finishing on the lead lap. Successful season already. The Sprint Cars of New England have this weekend off but will be at Bear Ridge Speedway on September 21st for the final feature of our Triple Crown event and also a regular night’s heats and feature if time allows. The Granite State Mini Sprints will be at Bear Ridge Speedway this weekend (9/14). With a huge 500cc division, an always fast & exciting 600cc class and only two races left on the GSMS schedule, fans are in store for some tight wheel to wheel racing. Lacey will drive the 007 mini stock at Devil’s Bowl Speedway this Sunday afternoon in the last race of the season at Devil’s Bowl Speedway. Hope to see you all there. Mother Nature has not been on racing's side this summer. The Granite State Mini Sprint Club is almost half way into its season and it has yet to complete a full night of racing due to many rain outs. The club is hoping to get a full night of racing in this Sunday at Legion Speedway in Rumney, NH.
Lacey has been racing the 007 Mini Stock at Devil's Bowl Speedway the past few Fridays. The car was involved in a wreck a couple weeks ago that ended it's night and the night of many other cars on the 2nd lap of the feature. This past weekend, the 007 suffered a flat tire early in the race but the crew was able to get it changed and Lacey finished the race; coming home in 6th place. The Mini Stocks will be back in action this Friday night (6/28). The Sprint Cars of New England have also been haunted by the rain this summer. They were able to get a race in last Saturday night at Bear Ridge Speedway. Lacey had a career high 2nd place finish. She was able to lead the race for many laps before veteran driver Dan Douville passed her on the outside for the lead. Congratulations to Dan Douville on the win and to Chris Donnelly who finished 3rd. It was a great race and the #33 team was very excited with the 2nd place finish. Stephen Hutchinson in the #13 sprint car continues to have a great rookie season, finishing the 25 lap feature unscathed while gaining a lot of experience and having a lot of fun. Lacey and Steve will both be headed to Canaan Dirt Speedway on Wednesday July 3rd for SCoNE's special mid-week 4th of July show. The GSMSRC will try again this weekend at Legion Speedway on May 19th. The 2nd annual Spring Madness Opener at Bear Ridge Speedway has been rescheduled June 8th. SCoNE @ Legion May 12th: SCoNE had a good turnout for its first race of the season having 16 sprinters in the pits. A few cautions slowed the feature but it was backed with great racing. Lacey had a good night, finishing 2nd in the heat and coming home in 7th in the feature. Car is in one piece and ready for the next race at Canaan Dirt Speedway on May 17th. Lacey also raced her 600cc mini sprint at Legion on Sunday. After getting some electrical issues sorted out, the car ran great and ended up finishing 4th in the feature. Steve Hutchinson raced in his first ever 360 sprint car event. He seemed to have a great time while gaining experience and is looking forward to the next race at Canaan this Friday night. Congratulations to the top 3: 1: Chris Donnelly #17 2: Dan Douville #7x 3: Kevin Chaffee #8 A full rundown of the finish and points will be available at www.nesprintcars.com See everyone at the races! The #33 race cars along with the #13 of Steve Hutchinson attended the Bear Ridge Speedway Car show at Home Depot in Lebanon, NH on April 27th. There were over 100 cars on hand making it the best turn out yet. After the show, all the teams made their way to Bear Ridge Speedway for the first practice of the season. All divisions were given many rounds of practice to shake out the bugs on their cars. The first races of the season are fast approaching. The 600cc mini sprint will be racing at Bear Ridge Speedway on May 11th. This will be the GSMSRC's 2nd annual 'Spring Madness Opener'. The first SCoNE race is also this weekend and will be held at Legion Speedway on May 12th. Hope to see everyone at the track! Lacey made her way to Devil's Bowl Speedway (yes... pavement) last weekend for her first race in the 007 Mini Stock. A special thank you to the Dundon family for allowing her to race their car when time allows this season. The 007 came home with a Heat race win and a 7th place in finish in the Feature. It was a brand new experience and everyone had a lot of fun. The next race will be on Friday, May 24th. The Diamond Run Mall Car show was a huge success. Many cars were on hand. Thank you to everyone who came and helped us unload and load the cars and also set up the display in the mall.
See photos below of our display at the car show. The annual Diamond Run Mall Racecar Show in Rutland, Vt is this coming weekend, March 23rd and 24th. There is going to be a great turn out this year. Be sure to visit the mall to see the cars and talk to the drivers and teams. The #33 sprint cars will be there along with the #13 360ci sprint car of Stephen Hutchinson (new ride for 2013) and mini sprints from the Granite State Mini Sprint Racing Club.

Look for this at the track this summer! The 2013 is fast approaching and work has begun on the #33 sprint cars. Next season, look for Lacey driving the #33 600cc mini sprint with the GSMS club and the #33 360 sprint car with the SCoNE group. Lacey will drive her 500cc mini sprint on a limited basis; thus allowing the team to focus on the other two cars.
Photos will be posted next week of the progress in the garage and of the new Toter! Keep checking back for updates. |
