As some of you might have heard already, there will be changes to the #33 sprint car team starting this season. Lacey will no longer be racing her 500cc Mini Sprint with the GSMSRC. Many of you know the history of the #33 mini sprint: Twelve or so years ago, Armand Boisvert allowed Lacey to take the car and race it. Since that day, the car has been part of the #33 household and has been a huge part of the GSMSRC. Lacey and this car have numerous wins and 4 championships. This winter, Armand has requested that the car be returned.
Starting in 2015, Lacey will be racing solely her 360ci car with the Sprint Cars of New England and the occasional ESS race when possible. It will be a change for the team to only have one car in its line up but maybe this is the year for great success in the 360 division. The transition into the 2015 season will be bitter sweet. It will be the start of a new season and new endeavors in the 360 but also a sad goodbye to a little car that has made such an impact on Lacey’s racing career.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family of Penny Davis who passed away earlier this month.
She will be forever in our hearts and we will think of her every Saturday night at Bear Ridge Speedway. The 2014 season has come to a close. The season held a different meaning for the #33 team. It was a season with a new car and trying to rebuild after a wreck that ended their season early in 2013. At the end of the year, the team had some great runs, some laps lead, a few close calls and only a few minor scrapes on the car. All in all, it was a successful year. The car rolled out of the trailer and into the shop after the last race so that puts the team miles ahead of the previous season. As always, it's sad to see the summer come to an end and it will be a long winter of 'racing around the table' until next season comes around.
Thank you to all the fans the come out ever week to cheer us on. We really appreciate the support. Have a great winter and we'll see you next season! Lacey Hanson and Stephen Hutchinson will be running wingless with the Sprint Cars of New England this labor day weekend. SCoNE has a double header planned with races at Bear Ridge Speedway on 8/30 and Legion Speedway on 8/31. Both events will be wingless.
It should be an exciting and eventful couple of races. Hopefully everyone can make it out to see these normally winged cars try to run wingless. We will post an update along with some photos next week. See you at the races. The #33 sprint car visited Lebanon Valley Speedway last weekend for a show with the Empire Super Sprints. This was Lacey's first event with the ESS in a couple years.
It was a night of many first. Lacey drew the #14 spill when signing in which put her on the outside pole of the 2nd heat. She ended up finish 4th in that heat which qualified her for the redraw. After pulling the #9 pill for the feature lineup, the team made one change to the front end of the car and then waited for the feature to roll out. One of the many exciting moments of the night came on the parade laps of the feature. Lacey was part of her first ever 4 abreast salute lap. It's something every fan loves to see and ever driver dreams of being a part of. The #33 came home in the 15th position. The team was very happy with how the night went and can't wait to go back next year. Everyone had an absolute blast. Congratulations to Steve Poirier on his feature win. Lacey will be racing Mike Dundon's #007 at Devil's Bowl Speedway Friday 6/27. There will be double features for the Mini Stocks. Steve and Lacey will be racing their sprint cars at Legion Speedway on Friday July 4th for a special 4th of July show followed by racing at Bear Ridge Speedway on Saturday July 5th. Hope to see everyone at the races. Lacey is very excited to be headed to Lebanon Valley this weekend to compete with the Empire Super Sprints. The team has been busy working on the car this week and it's almost ready. After not being able to attend last year's event, everyone is looking forward to going back to high banked track.
Lacey will be racing the 007 mini stock at Devil's Bowl Speedway on Friday 6/20. After losing power steering and brakes last weekend, everyone is ready for a fresh start this Friday night. Hope to see everyone at the races. The Sprint Car of New England were at Legion Speedway last Sunday with an impressive showing of cars. With the afternoon sun beating down on us, the track turned out to be very slick.
Lacey ended up finishing the feature race in the 10th position. Steve had a very good run in his heat race but ran into a fuel issue near the end. The team worked on the car after the heat but it only made it halfway through the feature before he was forced to pull in early. Due to these issues, he will not be able to race his car at Bear Ridge this coming weekend. Congratulations to Will Hull on his win Sunday. Lacey will be at Bear Ridge Speedway this Saturday night with the Sprint Car and will be racing at Devil's Bowl Speedway's make up event on Sunday. Hope to see you all at the races. Happy Father's Day to all the Dads out there. Hello Everyone,
The season is well underway and so far it's been a good year. Lacey had a great run at Bear Ridge Speedway two weekends ago, coming home in 4th place. The team is very happy with the new chassis and looks forward to the SCoNE race this Sunday at Legion Speedway. Lacey will also be racing the 007 mini stock at Devil's Bowl Speedway this Friday night. Stephen Hutchinson will make his first appearance of the year this Sunday at Legion Speedway. This is a new car to him and he has been practicing and working out a few kinks. We look forward to seeing it hit the track and take the green. Hope to see you all at the races! Thank you to all who came out to the Diamond Run Mall this past weekend for their annual racecar show. The show was a huge success and raised over $2,000 for the March of Dimes Foundation.
Now that they show is over it's back to work to get the cars race ready. The 2014 Season will be here before we know it.
Work has begun on the race car to get it ready. This season, Lacey will be racing her 360 sprint car full time with the Sprint Cars of New England. She hopes to make a few ESS shows but with schedules not being finalized yet, the team is unsure how many they will be able to attend. The #33 500cc mini sprint will race with the Granite State Mini Sprints Racing Club when time allows. Lacey will also drive the, Mike Dundon owned, #007 mini stock at Devil's Bowl Speedway on a limited schedule. After the sprint car suffered substantial damage in a SCoNE race at the end of the last year, the team went in search of a chassis. A Maxim chassis was picked up in Pennsylvania over the winter and everyone is hard at work getting it ready. The new car will be unveiled at the Diamond Run Mall Racecar Show in Rutland, VT (date TBA). The design on the car is ‘top secret’ this year. Photos won’t be posted on the website until after the car show. Hope everyone comes out to check out the new car. More details on the show to come. Stephen Hutchinson has also acquired a new chassif for the up and coming season. It too will have a ‘new look’. With his rookie season out of the way and some experience under his belt, the team is excited to get the new #13 chassis together and kick off the 2014 season. Special Thanks to Hutch for welding all the new tabs and brackets on the #33 Sprint Car. |
